The Government of Nepal has imposed 10% import duty on printed books coming from other countries. These include books of GitaPress. Books are transported throughout Nepal from the center of Gitapress in Kathmandu. In such a situation, this fee is difficult for Geeta Press. A one-time vehicle carrying a book to Nepal was initially charged a lump sum of Rs 565. Now, 10 percent of the cost of the total books loaded on the vehicle will have to be paid. Normally books worth seven-eight lakh rupees are sent on a vehicle. In this way, 70-80 thousand rupees will have to be paid.
